It's been a pleasure to be involved and to see so many successes on the green this year for Ellon Bowling Club. This is always very good to see.
The personal double of winning the Buchan League and just recently, the Buchan Top Ten title was absolutely superb for Ellon. We had some cracking battles along the way with our rivals as always but on the day we managed to get the job done. It will be interesting to find out who we draw in the next round of the Top 10. An away day would certainly be one to remember! Let's hope we can do a little better than we did last year when we went down to Uddingston and, although we had a good day, unfortunately we did not progress to the next round. The Ladies have also done our club proud this year with some excellent performances. Today, they are at Rothienorman BC playing in the Craigie Ladies finals (Singles and Pairs) and I wish them every success. One pair did very well at Ayr getting all the way to the semi finals but narrowly losing out on a place in the final. We also had one representative who was in the Grampian Ladies Champion of Champions losing out to Inverurie BC in the final. So the end is near. We are coming now to the business end of the season with our club finals taking place over the next couple of weeks. May I take this opportunity to wish all competitors all the best of luck and encourage you to come along and support them. If you can't make it along to the finals you can find out all the results by looking through our site and on the Facebook page. GC

Well done to everyone who has taken part so far and hopefully we will get a Ellon team into the Semi's to keep our chances of winning alive. Come along and support your club tomorrow! CC |
