Welcome Everybody To A New Season
Posted on 4:34pm Friday 13th Apr 2012
Welcome back to all members, old and new for another season of bowling at Ellon. The weather recently has been variable but let's hope for a nice dry season, but more importantly for the opening of the green on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
As always ,throughout the season, we have some exciting competitions and activities which members are encouraged to take part in. For instance there is the upcoming Club Triples competition which always is an exciting opening event. If your interested there is a sheet up on the clubhouse noticeboard for you to put your name down to participate.
The Hat Night's on Wednesday nights throughout the season are always entertaining and and a chance to play some competitive bowls in good company.
The annual invitationTriples competition and Super 6 tournament will hopefully be a highlight again this year and once again your own input into making these competitions successful is vitally important.
There are also sheets up for members if they are interested in playing in the Buchan League games which take place on Monday nights starting from the 7th May and also a sheet up for men, who are interested in taking part in the Crowmallie and Forbes Hendry.
We are also holding our annual county game this year for the Buchan Bowling Association when they are host to Perthshire on the 9th June. Spectators make a game so hopefully if your free come along and give your support. Mon the Buchan Loons!!
The Scottish knockouts will also provide some entertainment as well. Over recent years we have had a number of members represent the shire, particulary in the Ladies competitions. Hopefully we will have the same success this year and see some of our members journey down to Ayr for the finals.
I would in closing of my first 'official' blog like to wish all members their best for the season in all the competitions that they take part in. And even if your not taking part in any competitions, make sure you come down and have a bounce game now and again.
Let's hope for a sunny season. I'm optimistic.....:)
