Greetings all.

Well, a month has just about passed and already things are starting to shape up to be an interesting season at Ellon Bowling Club. We already have our first winners of the season last Friday night (4th May) when Grant Campbell, Alistair Spence and Allan Giles staged an excellent fightback to beat Willie Christie Snr, Martin Emslie and Phil Anderson in an absorbing final winning 15 shots to 12. An excellent contest to end a good opening tournament. There was plenty of entrants involved too which was good to see and the bowling was nothing short of competitive.

We are gearing up to the start of the Scottish for the Mens and Ladies for 2012. All the best to all taking part in their respective matches and I hope we do just as well as we did last year when we had representatives getting to Ayr as well as having people just missing out in the District 3 finals.

Our Invitational Triples will be commencing on the 24th June which as always is an exciting competition sponsored by Burgess and Son. A sheet will be going up on the wall in the clubhouse soon should you wish to take part.

Our Forbes Hendry match vs Methlick for the Ladies and the Men will also be just around the corner. The Ladies teams have been drawn and are currently on the website under 'Forbes Hendry Ladies'. Be sure to have a look. The mens will go up in due course.

It is also important at this early stage in the season for people to be organised in getting their club matches played as the deadlines are vast approaching. We need to take advantage of the good weather when we get it. Hopefully we will see a few more matches completed soon.
